How Washington DC calculates registration
The District prices strictly by weight, and the jumps between bands are brutal: crossing 3,500 pounds takes you from $70 to $175. Battery electric cars under 5,000 pounds may subtract 1,000 pounds from their shipping weight to offset battery mass, a break hybrids do not get.
Renewal cycle: annual.
