“It is based on an assessed value of 60 percent of the manufacturer’s base retail price reduced by 16.25 percent for each year since the vehicle was first registered in Arizona ... $2.80 per $100 of assessed value for new vehicles and $2.89 per $100 for used vehicles.”
Last verified: September 20, 2026.

Arizona starts from the base retail price when the vehicle was new, not what you paid. The $2.80 new-vehicle rate applies in the first year and the $2.89 used-vehicle rate applies after that, matching the ADOT worked example.
