What to know about Nebraska

You file Form 6 and pay the county treasurer within 30 days, whether you bought from a dealer or a private seller. The local rate follows your registration address. Separately, Nebraska charges an annual Motor Vehicle Tax based on the original MSRP, which is a different thing from this sales tax.
